Online Applications Embraced

The recent announcement by the Planning Portal that one in four planning applications are made though the site gives a clear indication that the market has embraced online services.

The figures show that National Portals for applications are successful and are in demand because of the benefits they provide applicants such as:

  • No Printing or Posting
  • Environmentally Friendly
  • 24/7 Application Submission

Increase Your Applications

If your Authority is already enabled to receive electronic applications then there are many simple ways to increase your online applications.

1: Ensuring you have a link to Submit-a-Plan on your Building Control web pages is a simple but effective method of increasing applications. A recent survey showed that 38% of Local Authorities do not have a link to Submit-a-plan in place. A website link and text is available on the Resolution website.

2: Put a link on the bottom of your e-mails

3: Send out a letter to your customers about the service. Resolution can provide you with leaflets and posters

4: Enable electronic submission on all application types. Most Local Authorities are only setup to receive Full Plan applications electronically
