Press Release Date: 22nd July 2003 Submit-a-Plan’s Remote Working A Big Hit DataSpace Remote WorkingSince its recent launch the exciting new Remote Working module for Submit-a-Plan on the Tablet PC has created a tremendous amount of interest as it enables Building Control officers to be able to take electronic plans and documents out on-site. The new remote working module incorporates all of the functionality of the main system while giving greater flexibility and freedom. The remote working module virtually eliminates the need for taking paper drawings and documents on site. Drawings can be viewed on screen and redline comments made using the electronic pen. Work completed outside of the office can be synchronised with the main system once back in the office and drawings and documents for future visits taken out using the simple “select n Sync” technology.
To date five councils are piloting Remote working around England and enjoying the flexibility and freedom of the system, with many more Planning to role the system out to all their Building Control officers. What is Submit-a-Plan? Submit-a-Plan is a product that was designed for the LABC Services to enable Local Authority Building Control departments to receive, review, comment and approve applications for building regulations electronically. The Submit-a-Plan system facilitates the move toward putting as many public services online by 2005, in line with Government targets. Why do you need Submit-a-Plan?
